Our Community Vision is Blooming

On July 5, 2025, our community gathered at Ravens Crossing Cohousing for an energizing design workshop that explored possibilities for our future home. Cornerstone Architects' team, led by Gesa Zellermann and Scott Kennedy, presented thoughtful analysis of our site's potential, highlighting opportunities for creating vibrant shared spaces. They even brought a model!

Surveying Outdoor Common Areas

Workshop participants explored various ways to maximize outdoor living areas, envisioning welcoming spaces where neighbours naturally connect. The design concepts include terraces, cozy outdoor rooms for year-round use, and a greenhouse for growing food and nurturing community.

Through hands-on design activities guided by our architects, teams discovered how thoughtfully designed spaces enhance daily life. Members measured existing courtyards and gathering spots, bringing realistic dimensions to our planning discussions.

Pets, Veggie Gardens and More

The workshop sparked creative ideas for pet-friendly areas, community gardens, and sheltered spaces that invite spontaneous gatherings in all seasons. These elements will help shape preliminary designs that reflect our community's values.

Next Steps

Our architect team will refine these concepts based on community input, moving us closer to realizing our shared vision. The second of six design workshops is planned for Aug 23rd. It's not too late to become a member and get involved!

Is Cohousing Right for You? Workshop

  • July 28 or Aug 18:

    Join this free 60 minute interactive session on zoom to get your questions answered and better understand what it's like to collaboratively plan for, then live in a cohousing community. Sessions are from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Day of the week varies. Please email info@victoriaharbourcohousing.ca to get the zoom link. Please specify which date you want to attend.
